Michael Barry of Monmouth, Illinois, has been involved in Special Olympics for over 40 years, competing in athletics, Alpine skiing, basketball, bowling, floor hockey, golf, softball and volleyball. He will represent Special Olympics at the Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025 in Alpine skiing.
Competing in Special Olympics is a source of pride for Michael, having earned over 800 medals in his career. He regards being selected to compete in two Special Olympics USA Games and being married to his late wife, Joyce, as his greatest accomplishments. Employed by Warren Achievement, Jeff works as a woodworker and a peer mentor to other woodworkers. In his downtime, he enjoys participating in his bowling league, walking, playing games and being in nature. He is looking forward to representing his country at the Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025.
