Mitchell “Mitch” Hibdon of Olympia, Washington, first got involved with Special Olympics in 2015. Starting with bowling, he began training in powerlifting. At the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023, he will represent Special Olympics USA in powerlifting. Mitch most admires his coach, who is teaching him to follow instructions and to succeed in his sport.
He is employed at Paulson’s Motorsports as a car detailer and spends his free time playing video games, talking to friends and going to the mall. A member of the People First of Washington organization, Mitch and fellow members support individuals with disabilities in advocating for themselves. At the World Games, he looks forward to excelling in his sport and watching others do the same.
