David “Dave” Pawlowski of Henrico, Virginia, has been involved with Special Olympics for the past 30 years. In that time, he has learned what the world should look like – united, inclusive and one of mutual respect. Dave is employed by Special Olympics Virginia as vice president of sports, health and fitness and is experienced in providing quality medical care for athletes and coaches, which he has done in five Special Olympics USA Games and nine Special Olympics World Games. He will represent Special Olympics USA in a medical staff role. In 2017, he was inducted into the Virginia Athletic Trainers’ Association Hall of Fame and was recognized as the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers’ Association Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer in 2015.
He enjoys exercising, cycling, scuba and providing exemplary sports programming to Special Olympics athletes, this time at the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023.
