Raven Allen of Augusta, Georgia, has competed in Special Olympics for the past 16 years in bocce, bowling, cycling, equestrian and volleyball. She will represent Special Olympics USA in kayaking. For the past 10 years, Raven has supported the Law Enforcement Torch Run® efforts in her community, running alongside officers in area relays. Special Olympics has changed Raven’s life, providing opportunities to make new friends and try new things. In November 2021, Raven suffered the loss of her mother, who Raven greatly admires for all she did to give Raven a better life and future. Making her loved ones proud, Raven will be one of the first members of her family to travel to another country as she competes in the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023.
Raven is employed at Augusta Development Specialists, where she takes patients’ vital signs and assists with paperwork. In her free time, she volunteers helping seniors with household chores, plays games with friends and spends time with her family. Raven goes to the gym regularly and practices on the water, readying herself to represent her country in the World Games.
