Christine Johnson of Staten Island, New York, has extensive coaching experience through various schools and nonprofit agencies. She has competed as a Unified partner in golf and bocce. She will represent Special Olympics USA as an assistant coach in golf. Through Special Olympics, Christine takes pride in providing meaningful opportunities and experiences to all individuals, regardless of ability. No matter the outcome, Christine enjoys watching athletes perform independently after training hard for competition. A lifelong athlete, Christine leveraged her experience as a coach for Special Olympics USA in two Special Olympics World Games.
Active in her community, Christine is a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, a volunteer for Tunnel to Towers Foundation and the New York City Marathon. Through the New York City Department of Education, she teaches adapted physical education. She considers Special Olympics USA the perfect combination of family, sportsmanship, camaraderie and competition.
