Mark Springuel of Glen Echo, Maryland, has competed with Special Olympics for 30 years in bocce, cross country skiing, cycling and tennis. He will represent Special Olympics USA in cycling. For Mark, Special Olympics provides opportunities for social interaction and activities to maintain physical fitness.
He is employed with GMMB, a strategic communication firm, where he has worked for 16 years as an office assistant. He enjoys riding his bike weekly, cooking and listening to music. He is most excited to experience the feeling of walking into the Opening Ceremony at the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023.
