Alisha Dey of Rockville, Maryland, has competed with Special Olympics for 16 years. She has competed in both North Carolina and Maryland in swimming and cycling. In the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023, Alisha will represent Special Olympics USA in cycling. This will be Alisha’s first time attending a Special Olympics World Games.
Her training regimen includes swimming twice a week and working out at the gym every other day. Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps, also a Maryland native, is her sports role model.
She is employed part-time as a server assistant at the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland. In addition to taking art classes at Montgomery College in Rockville, Alisha volunteers at a senior housing facility playing the piano.
