David Young of Cranston, Rhode Island, has been involved with Special Olympics for more than 20 years in athletics, basketball, bocce, flag football, softball and volleyball. He will represent Special Olympics USA as a Unified partner in bocce. Through his volunteerism, he has developed amazing friendships. In 2014, David attended the Special Olympics USA Games competing in volleyball, where his team won gold.
David is employed by a bank, where he helps produce reporting for multiple lines of businesses. While working full-time, David completed his college degree. His spare time is spent with his 3-year-old son. For David, it is an honor to be selected for the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023 and to compete alongside Special Olympics Rhode Island athlete Brian Johnson.
