Amanda “Mandy” Faust of Phoenix, Arizona, began volunteering for Special Olympics as a Phoenix Police Department officer supporting the Law Enforcement Torch Run® for Special Olympics Arizona. Now retired, Mandy helped Special Olympics Arizona in preparing for the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games. In the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023, she will represent Special Olympics USA as an assistant coach in basketball. She feels blessed to know and interact with many phenomenal Special Olympics athletes, who remind her of what is important in life.
Mandy played basketball in high school and at an NCAA Division II school in Florida. As a volunteer, she has coached basketball at a local YMCA. She loves to read, hike, run and spend time with her family and friends, many of whom she looks up to for their commitment to each other and to making the world better. At the World Games, she is ready to represent and support Special Olympics USA.
