Ivory Richardson of Gainesville, Florida, has participated in Special Olympics since 2017, training and competing in basketball, bowling and flag football. She will represent Special Olympics USA in basketball. This will be Ivory's first time attending a Special Olympics World Games.
Following her high school graduation, Ivory now attends Santa Fe College and is enrolled in Project SAINT, an official Florida Post- Secondary Comprehensive Transition Program (FPCTP), recognized by the Florida Center for Students with Unique Abilities. She is currently employed by Country Inn & Suites in the housekeeping department. Ivory also runs her own nonprofit, called Ivory’s Place, which provides free school supplies and other necessities to children.
For Ivory, attending the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023 means making new friends and celebrating accomplishments as a team.
