Catherine "Cate" Crowley of Gainesville, Florida, first got involved with Special Olympics as a high school sophomore in Denver, Colorado. Starting her freshman year at the University of Florida, Cate got involved as a Unified partner and has participated in basketball, flag football and soccer. She serves on the executive board as the vice president of outreach for the Special Olympics College Club at the school. Cate is proud of her school’s successes in winning ESPN’s Virtual College Rivalry Championship two years in a row and for earning national banner recognition as a Special Olympics Unified Champion School®.
Cate also serves on the executive board as the vice president of philanthropy for her sorority and is involved in a preprofessional organization for athletic training. She enjoys golfing, skiing, hiking and spending time with family and friends.
Attributing who she is today to her time with Special Olympics, Cate is looking forward to sharing the experience of attending the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023 with her closest friends.
