Luke Bappe of Riverton, Wyoming, has been competing in Special Olympics for 10 years in athletics, basketball, bowling, snowshoeing and softball. He will represent Special Olympics USA in athletics. Competing in athletics, Luke attended the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games. Special Olympics has introduced Luke to some of his very best friends and talented coaches, who motivate him to keep participating year after year.
For the past six years, Luke has worked as a front-end associate at Walmart, but has spent his entire life living and working on his family farm, where he feeds and cares for livestock, assists with haying operations, builds fences and repairs equipment. He operates the loader, backhoe, feed truck and trailers hay. The family also owns a dairy operation, which Luke helps to run. Given the physical nature of his job, Luke’s many responsibilities on the farm supplement his training for the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023. Luke is ready to represent Wyoming and the United States in this experience of a lifetime.
