Anne Hermann of Juniata, Nebraska, started competing with Special Olympics more than 20 years ago. In the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023, she will represent Special Olympics USA in athletics. In 2010, Anne represented Nebraska in her home state, competing in the Special Olympics USA Games. As an athlete living with a cerebral palsy diagnosis, Anne has excelled in Alpine skiing, athletics, bocce, cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Through Special Olympics, she has gained confidence on and off the field of play.
Following her mother’s passing in 2013, Anne and her father have supported each other through everything. She is proud to have obtained her Nebraska driver’s license. She continues to achieve her goals and will do so by competing in the World Games.
