Storm Curtis is a young, smart, fun and a loving person, who likes to travel, play video games, watch sports and hang out with family and friends. Storm sees himself having a better future by going to college to achieve a degree in Mechanical Engineering, which is his dream job and would help reach one of his goals in life. If he had to choose one word to describe himself, it would be “thankful." Storm thinks Special Olympics is very fun and competitive. He says, "I had always wanted to be a part of some group that is active, that can understand and relate to the way I view life and the world. I wanted to play sports for a very long time and thanks to Special Olympics, I can do that now!" Over the course of a year, Storm worked to come out of his shell to participate in flag football and volleyball. He feels he has coaches who care about him and he's developed lifelong friendships with his teammates. "And now we are representing USA at Special Olymipcs World Games Abu Dhabi 2019!" Special Olympics has given Storm the opportunity to do things he would have never imagined, including traveling to another country to compete against people from other countries, "who view the world as I see it. This is a small reason for why I say that I am thankful. I am thankful for my family, friends, coaches, Special Olympics and everyone who has made a positive impact in my life. Lastly, I am thankful to call myself a Special Olympics athlete representing the USA."
