Sarah Fromknecht got involved with Special Olympics because she needed community service hours for a college course. She’s been with the organization ever since and will serve as an assistant coach on the Clinton County Hawks in Abu Dhabi, representing Special Olympics Pennsylvania and Special Olympics USA. She’s most proud of seeing her athletes accomplish things they never thought possible, including attending a softball invitational in Virginia. She’s humbled that they see her not just as a coach, but as family. Sarah works at a school that specializes in autistic and emotional support where she helps students gain independence. Sarah admires her two older siblings who have helped instill in her the values of acceptance, support, selflessness and generosity.
