Kimy Pesina is an active Special Olympics volunteer both on and off the playing field. In addition to competing, she also manages her local Special Olympics program's Instagram account. Kimy loves the sense of belonging that comes with being on teams--her high school soccer team, her Special Olympics teams and her church youth group. Her high school is a Special Olympics Unified Champion School and she credits her participation in Special Olympics Unified Sports for introducing her to a "whole new world" that shows her what she loves to do and what kind of person she wants to be.
