Jill Simmons is a sports manager for swimming for Special Olympics USA. Simmons hails from Bend, Oregon and has been involved with Special Olympics for 10 years. Simmons says her proudest Special Olympics moment was seeing her first athlete cross the finish line during her first regional games, but that watching the Special Olympics World Summer Games was amazing as well. “People thought I was nuts for jumping up and down cheering for them,” says Simmons. When it comes to coaching in during Special Olympics World Games, Simmons says “It is such an honor to be selected and I am humbled to be surrounded by such high caliber coaches and athletes.” In addition to her volunteer work with Special Olympics, Jill is also a volunteer paramedic/firefighter and Civil Air Patrol volunteer.
