Steve Comen will be attending his fourth Special Olympics World Games. He sailed as a Special Olympics Unified Sports partner in Ireland in 2003 and China in 2007, and was a sailing coach in Los Angeles in 2015. He spent 33 years as an engineer and engineering manager at Texas Instruments. He has been married to his wife Renee for 30 years and they have two kids. Steve started sailing in high school. He and Renee sail competitively and Steve is also a US Sailing certified dinghy instructor, club race officer, and club judge. He first started sailing as a Unified partner with Special Olympics in 2000 and has been running the Dallas-based Special Olympics sailing program since 2003. He is looking forward to working with a great team of sailors and representing the US in Abu Dhabi.
