Trevor Tridle of Deadwood, South Dakota, has been participating in Special Olympics for seven years, and has been participating in powerlifting for the entire time. He is often known as “THE powerlifter” in Special Olympics South Dakota due to his remarkable feats. He recently deadlifted 500 pounds at the 2018 Special Olympics South Dakota State Summer Games. He enjoys competing in the many different places the sport has taken him and has gained a lot of confidence because of it. He recently competed at the Special Olympics Showcase for World Federation Powerlifting in Orlando, Florida in 2017. Trevor attended Black Hills State University where he earned his degree in exercise science with a minor in coaching, and now works for the city of Deadwood, South Dakota as a parks technician. With the help of his coach, Brent Steinbach, he is preparing for Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019 where he is most looking forward to representing the US and South Dakota and learning a different culture. He can't wait to meet other athletes.
