Sylvester "The Juggernaut" Vermillion joined Special Olympics in 2014. He immediately found his niche in powerlifting and basketball, breaking two personal best records in powerlifting in his second and third years. In addition to training year-round, he is an avid video gamer and cheers on the Kansas City Chiefs football team. Sylvester is the dad of two children with Fragile X Syndrome who are his world. Sylvester says, "I love my team, we are like family." At the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games, Sylvester earned two gold medals and two silver medals in powerlifting!
