Matt Rueter is a retired State Police Officer (30 years of service) who had his first taste of Special Olympics through his wife who works in Special Education and they started volunteering together. He truly became hooked on Special Olympics when he started playing Unified Golf with his partner William. Matt said getting involved in Special Olympics has "opened my eyes to the unlimited possibilities for people with disabilities. It has shown me the wonderful personalities each individual has". When not playing golf, Matt likes to do woodworking and support the Texas Longhorns! Go Horns!
