Tom Walmsley has been Coaching Illinois Special Olympics Equestrian for 19 years. In 2016, he was awarded the Illinois Ernie Buchanan Award for volunteer of the year. He has seen firsthand the amazing things that horses can do, both mentally and physically for persons with disabilities. He is particularly excited to experience the culture and beauty of the Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019. He has been a World Games Equestrian Coach at the 2011 Athens, Greece World Games as well as the 2015 Los Angeles, California World Games. He is currently owner of a Training and Boarding Facility and shows horses across the United States.
