Ryan Betcher, a recent graduate of University of Arizona with a degree in Public Health, currently serves Special Olympics Arizona as an Area Director for the west valley. "Special Olympics has changed my life by giving me a chance to build a career, but more importantly it has given me the opportunity to meet new lifelong friends and build relationships with incredible athletes and volunteers," says Ryan. He also enjoys the outdoors and being physically active by going to the gym, golfing, hiking and spending time with his dog. On being selected to compete in Abu Dhabi: "It is an unbelievable privilege to attend Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019 and to represent the USA. My basketball team has become my family. It will be an experience to remember and I look forward to bringing our passion and sportsmanship to the world stage," comments Ryan.
