Joseph Summers is very sociable, loves to have fun, laugh and make people happy. According to Joseph, his mother is his biggest fan! His high school track coach told him about Special Olympics, so he tried out for the Unified basketball team and made it. According to Joseph, the experience has been nothing short of life-changing, "I played basketball on other teams," he says, "but this Special Olympics team is different, it just felt easy for me. I am more comfortable because everyone understands, no one ever judges me on the court. Playing on this basketball team gives me purpose." When asked about World Games, Joseph adds, "I have never traveled to places like [Abu Dhabi] before and playing competitive basketball with everyone watching is a dream come true."
