Kirby Oertling has been a Special Olympics Louisiana athlete for ten years. An average day for Oertling includes working at Chez Cafe in the mornings as a dishwasher and busboy, and then for St. Louis Catholic in the afternoons as a ball boy and manager. Oertling's proudest accomplishment is being the best big brother he can to his four younger sisters. It is a dream come true for him to be able to attend World Games. "I love competing in Special Olympics and it will be great to be around other athletes that love Special Olympics as much as me."
