Jabari Wilson started training and competing with Special Olympics Ohio when he turned eight years old. His first sports were basketball, track, and softball. At age 17, he led his basketball team to a state championship and, while in high school, Jabari ran track and played on the varsity football team. Jabari credits his Special Olympics training with building his confidence and improving his overall athletic skills. Jabari’s favorite events include the 100-meter dash and the shot put. At the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games in Seattle, Jabari earned gold medals in the pentathlon and the 4x100 relay events. When he’s not training or working at his local YMCA, Jabari enjoys socializing with friends, playing video games, and attending sporting events. He is looking forward to the experience of competing with athletes from all over the globe in Abu Dhabi! Jabari says that he would change the world for the better by having “everyone love each other with no divisions.”
