Heather Zwingelberg stared life as a 1 lb 6 oz preemie. Heather, along with her twin sister, Amanda, spent months in the hospital and endured several procedures and surgeries. She proved she was a real fighter that first year. Heather has always tried her best to overcome her disabilities and running has been a big part of that. Heather first learned she loved to run in fourth grade. She ran cross country and track & field in both junior and senior high school. Heather ran on the first Unified track & field team for Mount Vernon High School during her senior year. She then joined Special Olympics in 2015 and has competed ever since. Heather is looking forward to doing her best representing the United States at Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019!
