Cassie Taber is an accomplished high school and BOCES graduate, who also enjoys horseback riding and listening to music in her leisure time. For the past 10 years she also has participated in supported employment through Challenge Workforce Solutions and has done a number of different and interesting jobs, including working in a greenhouse. Cassie is extremely involved in athletics, bowling and softball. She has also participated in Special Olympics New York's powerlifting, volleyball and snowshoeing programs. At the upcoming Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019, Cassie will display her talents on the athletics field where she will compete amongst others, but also try to outdo her personal bests. Being involved in sports has helped her stay active and fit. She exercises every day in several types of sports play. Cassie has not been to Abu Dhabi before and is really excited to meet and experience new people and the culture. She lists competing in 2018 Special Olympics USA Games as her biggest accomplishment to date. Cassie feels Special Olympics New York has helped her grow a person, and has inspired her to be who she is today. Cassie is extremely happy with what Special Olympics New York offers her daily and wouldn’t change a thing if given the opportunity. Her mom is her best role-model.
