Austin Hackley of Woodbury, Minnesota has been a Special Olympics athlete for 18 years, competing in athletics, bowling, football, basketball, downhill skiing and soccer. Austin will be competing in the 1500M, 800M, and 4x400M relay at Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019. Austin competed on his high school track and cross country teams and has won the Special Olympics Minnesota Athlete of the Year award. “I am most looking forward to meeting and competing against athletes from around the world,” said Austin. “I am also excited to learn about a new culture in Abu Dhabi.” Austin is training vigorously for World Games, running or cross training six days a week.
