Andrew "No Limits" Peterson is a passionate runner and a passionate speaker, especially when the subject is Special Olympics, Unified Sports or bullying. He says his life really turned around when he started in Special Olympics sports at the age of 13. He has come very far from the time of original diagnosis, back when doctors wondered if he'd even be able to walk. Andrew ran his first 5k at age of nine with his dad and won his first 5k race in 2017. He ran his first half marathon two years ago, and since has completed seven total. He has also finished five full marathons. In April of 2017, Andrew missed qualifying for the Boston Marathon by 44 seconds. Never fear, that did not deter Andrew, as he went on to complete his hometown Indianapolis Marathon in under three hours, qualifying him for the 2019 Boston Marathon! With the support of his adopted dad, Craig, Andrew is now a Global Messenger who has traveled around Indiana speaking out about the importance of inclusion and respect. He is also part of the Athlete Leadership program. Andrew looks to build on his multi-medal winning performances at the 2014 and 2018 USA Games to bring home the gold for Special Olympics USA at the Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019!
