Michael Froehling of Hastings, Minnesota, has participated in Special Olympics for 19 years in athletics, basketball, bowling, flag football, golf, gymnastics, snowshoeing and swimming. When X Games Minneapolis debuted a Special Olympics Unified BMX Race in 2019, Michael competed with Dakota Roche, three-time X Games medalist. Taking on another international stage, Michael will represent Special Olympics USA in snowshoeing. In competition, Michael feels strong and aims to do his best.
During his high school years, Michael competed on the Dakota United Hawks Adapted Floor Hockey and Dakota United Hawks Adapted Softball teams. In addition to racing go-carts, he rides his bicycle and works out regularly. Part-time, he is employed as an operations associate at Kohl’s. He most admires his family and coaches, who have supported him in becoming a strong competitor and teammate.
