Kayla Edgar of Westerly, Rhode Island, has been a Special Olympics athlete for over 25 years, competing in three different states. She enjoys giving back to Special Olympics by participating in Polar Plunge® fundraisers and Law Enforcement Torch Run® for Special Olympics fundraising events. In addition to her Special Olympics sports training, Kayla is an accomplished equestrian, taking riding lessons for years and competing in several horse shows. She enjoys doing art projects with her sister and cooking with her mom.
The Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025 will be Kayla’s first time competing outside of her Special Olympics Program. She’s training hard by exercising and walking daily, eating healthy and continuing snowshoeing training.
