Jim Bluemond of Geneva, Illinois, has coached Special Olympics athletes for three years. He will serve as a snowshoeing coach for Special Olympics USA in the Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025. Jim, his wife, Christine, and daughter, Emma, are actively involved with the Family Leadership Team with Special Olympics Illinois. His son, Ben, is a Special Olympics athlete, inspiring Jim on and off the field of play.
For the past 10 years, Jim has worked in human resources at Argonne National Laboratory. He enjoys attending Special Olympics events with his son and finding Star Wars collectables. His goal for the Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025 is to make it a safe and unforgettable experience for the athletes competing, while putting them in the best position to perform at their highest level.
