Daniel Johnson of Normal, Illinois, has been competing in Special Olympics for 14 years, participating in athletics, basketball, powerlifting, snowshoeing, softball and volleyball. He will represent Special Olympics USA at the Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025 in snowshoeing. Daniel credits Special Olympics with helping him gain confidence and leadership skills.
Having graduated high school in 2020, Daniel is currently taking college courses at Heartland Community College. Additionally, he is employed by City of Bloomington Parks and Recreation as a youth sports leader. In his free time, Daniel enjoys being in musicals and plays, is an Eagle Scout and watching sports. He is looking forward to new experiences and traveling outside of the country.
