Chris Furches of Jonesborough, Tennessee, has been a Special Olympics athlete since 2011 and has competed in athletics, bowling and snowboarding. He is grateful for Special Olympics introducing him to snowboarding, a sport that helps him stay fit mentally and physically in the winter months.
In addition to his Special Olympics accomplishments, Chris is a talented ATV Motocross athlete. He has 14 Class Championships in ATV Motocross racing and became the first person with autism to win an ATVMX National Championship in 2015. When he isn’t speeding down the mountain or around the Motocross track, Chris enjoys playing video and board games, attending ice hockey games and building things.
In preparation for the Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025, Chris will focus on physical fitness and proper nutrition. He is honored to represent his country at the World Games and looks forward to his greatest journey ever.
