Madisun Rosier of Spring Hill, Tennessee, has been a Special Olympics athlete since 2014, when she first began playing Unified basketball. She currently trains and competes in athletics, basketball, bowling, flag football and short track speed skating. Special Olympics has helped Madisun build her confidence and has encouraged her to dream big dreams, including starting a short track speed skating club in Tennessee so other individuals can grow to love the sport like she did.
In addition to her Special Olympics sports training, Madisun is an avid ice hockey player and competes in a women’s ice hockey league. She is the only individual with an intellectual disability on her team and dreams of becoming a professional women's hockey player and playing in Team USA's hockey program. Madisun is very involved in her local community, volunteering at the animal shelter and several other organizations.
Madisun is training seven days a week off ice and up to five times a week on the ice in preparation for the Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025. She is excited for her first World Games experience and the opportunity to meet extended family for the first time.
