Chris Steele of Norfolk, Virginia, has been involved with Special Olympics for more than 25 years as a parent, coach, volunteer, fundraiser and board member. He will serve as a coach for short track speed skating at the Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025.
Chris is proud to be a part of Special Olympics and loves how the organization makes a positive impact on athletes, families and supporters. Along with his many roles to support the organization, he has plunged 13 times into the Atlantic Ocean as part of Polar Plunge® fundraising events to support athletes.
Describing himself as adaptable, resilient and resourceful, Chris is humbled and honored to be a part of Special Olympics USA and lead his team in Italy. He looks forward to help showcase all of the athletes’ inspiration and courage on a world stage.
