Chris McMullen of Freehold, New Jersey, was introduced to Special Olympics 23 years ago. For more than 10 years, he has participated in basketball, golf, swimming and short track speed skating. In the Special Olympics World Games Athens 2011, McMullen represented Special Olympics USA in swimming, winning four medals, three gold and one bronze. More than a decade later, he will represent Special Olympics USA in short track speed skating.
For the past 10 years, he has worked for the Monmouth County Division of Social Services. One of his many talents is performing the national anthem at Special Olympics New Jersey events. He is also skilled at quoting entire movie scripts. Now, his focus is on preparing his talents for the global stage.
