Kelly Monicatti of Excelsior, Minnesota, began her involvement with Special Olympics in 1999, starting as a volunteer and Unified partner. In 2000, she joined the Special Olympics Michigan staff as the coaches’ education and volunteer manager. Four years later, she moved to Minnesota and began working with Special Olympics Minnesota, where she is now employed as the vice president of sports, health and schools. She will represent Special Olympics USA as a sport manager. Over the years, she has supported the Special Olympics World Games Dublin 2003 and five Special Olympics USA Games.
Kelly earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise and health science from Alma College, where she also played collegiate softball, and a master’s degree in sport administration from Central Michigan University. A mother to two daughters, she encourages their volunteering, music and dance endeavors. She is proud to live a life and career where there is meaningful engagement that can affect communities in an impactful way.
