Sandy Crecco of Hopewell Junction, New York, grew up volunteering with Special Olympics. In participating with the Law Enforcement Torch RunĀ® for Special Olympics, he now coordinates volunteer opportunities for officers of the Carmel Police Department, where he is employed as a sergeant. Special Olympics has allowed Sandy to appreciate the importance of teamwork and individual effort in sports. He is motivated by seeing athletes accomplish their goals, supporting them along the way.

He admires his father, who is hardworking and innovative in his approach to getting the job done, no matter what it may be. When Sandy is not golfing, practicing archery or jogging, he tries his hand at anything creative or arts related. His first time attending a Special Olympics World Games, he looks forward to playing as a team and doing their absolute best.
