Peter Gianatiempo of Westchester, New York, will represent Special Olympics USA as a Unified partner in floorball. During his internship at North East Westchester Special Education, Peter was introduced to Special Olympics. Growing up playing hockey, his transition to floorball was a natural one. With prior experience as a goalie, he works closely with the floorball team’s goalie, Mike Bub, to share advice and technique.
He is now employed as a recreation specialist with The Arc Westchester but spends much of his time practicing with the Special Olympics team he met through his internship. Coming from an Italian family, Peter learned the culture of the country in his New York home. Competing in the Special Olympics World Winter Games 2025, he plans to learn more about his heritage and connect with likeminded people.
