Maria Luisa Trinidad of Mercedes, Texas, has supported Special Olympics for more than 20 years as a coach and volunteer coordinator. She will lead athletes as a floorball coach for Special Olympics USA.
Maria Luisa works at University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and serves as associate chair of the Health & Human Performance Department for the College of Health Professions. She also contributes to the Special Olympics Inclusion College Club at the university. As a Special Olympics coach, she participated in the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games in Orlando, Florida.
Special Olympics gives purpose to Maria Luisa’s life and she is passionate about making a difference for her athletes. She is honored to be a part of Special Olympics USA and represent her hometown.
