Liz Salinas of Elsa, Texas, has competed in Special Olympics for four years. She was first introduced to Special Olympics through her day program, My Morning Star Adult Day Care. In the years since, her days have been filled with basketball, bocce, floorball and tennis practices. Now, she will represent Special Olympics USA in floorball as her team’s goalie. Before Special Olympics, Liz suffered from anxiety and depression. In Special Olympics Texas and in her coaches, Mr. Domingo and Mrs. Eve, she found her hope.
Her spare time is spent with her friends and her four-legged family. Staying active, she trains regularly and walks through park trails in her town. Liz has certificates in nursing assistance and phlebotomy. Though many have told her that her disability will hold her back, she is here to prove them wrong. She is excited to represent the United States at the Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025.
