Leigh Howard of Malta, New York, has been involved with Special Olympics for three years, after starting her employment as Director of Unified Programs for Special Olympics New York. Competing in the Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025, she will represent Special Olympics USA as a Unified partner in floorball. For Leigh, working with Special Olympics has reinforced her belief in the strength of sport and opened her eyes to an entirely new community.
In her spare time, Leigh enjoys skiing, hiking, and camping. Some of her favorite memories include hiking Mount Kilimanjaro, trekking the Tour du Mont Blanc, and also running seven marathons through various cities. She is looking forward to the opportunity of a lifetime and is proud to represent the athletes, partners, coaches, and volunteers she gets to work with every day.
