Jessie Espinet of White Plains, New York, started coaching Special Olympics seven years ago. Shifting gears, she will represent Special Olympics USA as a Unified partner in floorball. Through sports, Jessie has gained confidence, social skills and so much more. A three-sport athlete in high school and a college athlete, Jessie has learned the value of participating in sports. She is grateful for the opportunity to provide those same experiences for people with intellectual disabilities.
A certified therapeutic recreation specialist, Jessie is employed as a senior recreation therapist at North East Westchester Special Recreation. In navigating life’s challenges, she is inspired by her mother, who has been in remission from breast cancer for more than 20 years. Jessie admires the Special Olympics athletes she works with, who motivate her to do her best in everything.
