Erika Johnson of Murphy, Texas, began with Special Olympics in 2002 and participates in basketball, bowling, flag football, floorball, golf, soccer, softball and volleyball. She also competed with the FC Dallas Special Olympics Unified Team. Along with being a part of the soccer team, Erika has represented Texas in golf at two Special Olympics USA Games in 2010 and 2022. She will now compete in floorball for Special Olympics USA.
Special Olympics has empowered Erika to be a team leader and overcome her fear of traveling to other countries. She has worked as an usher at AMC Theaters for 18 years and enjoys volunteering, playing video games and taking care of her two dogs.
Erika is proud to join Special Olympics USA and looks forward to doing her best at the Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025.
