Destiny Chavez of El Paso, Texas, has been participating in Special Olympics for three years and competes in basketball and floorball. She credits Special Olympics for changing her life by allowing her to meet new people and travel around the world. Now, she will represent Special Olympics USA in floorball at the Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025.
A talented artist, Destiny won a gold medal at an art competition at her high school, where she is currently a student. She said that she most admires her mother, who she describes as a tough person with a big heart.
Destiny looks forward to the honor of representing her country at World Games.
