Cori Piels of Rochester, New York, began competing in Special Olympics more than two decades ago. Through Special Olympics, Cori has developed her passion for figure skating in an inclusive environment. In the Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025, she will represent Special Olympics USA in figure skating. Also working to develop her public speaking skills and confidence, Cori serves as a Health Messenger and is a member of her regional Athlete Leadership Council.
Cori trains three times a week with her coach and is inspired by two-time Olympic medalist Michelle Kwan. Confident in her independence, Cori lives on her own with her cat, Phoebe. As a representative of Special Olympics USA, she is ready to prove that hard work pays off.
