Andy Melville of Salt Lake City, Utah, started competing in Special Olympics when he was 8 years old. He has trained in athletics, basketball, DanceSport, golf, soccer and swimming. In the Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025, he will represent Special Olympics USA in DanceSport. Special Olympics has given him the opportunity to make new friends, stay healthy and be part of a team. Being on stage and hearing the audience cheer makes Andy feel happy and proud.
A graduate of Brighton High School, Andy now attends Tanner Dance’s arts and education program for adults with disabilities through the University of Utah. He is employed in nutrition services with Granite School District and volunteers with Special Olympics and Meals on Wheels. He looks forward to sharing his passion for dance and making others smile, competing in front of his largest audience yet.
