Tyler Lagasse of Tyngsborough, Massachusetts, started competing in Special Olympics more than 21 years ago. He has trained in Alpine skiing, athletics, basketball and golf. With Special Olympics, he has traveled the country, competing in four Special Olympics USA Games. In 2025, he will have the opportunity to travel to Italy, representing Special Olympics USA in Alpine skiing. Among his many accomplishments, he is most proud of his induction to the Special Olympics Massachusetts Hall of Fame and receiving an honorary ESPY Award for the book he wrote with his mother, "What Do You Say? Autism with Character."
In 2014, he graduated from Middlesex Community College and continued his studies at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Competing in the Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025, he plans to earn a medal in honor of Bode Miller, American Alpine skier, who was disqualified in the 2006 Winter Olympics, held in Turin.
